Stepping Back to Go Forward

Can you remember a time when had a natural high and were convinced that you were on the right path?

I do. Three months ago, I realised that despite having faced a tough year on the work front I still had what it takes to do what matters most to me. I was on a high and everything was falling into place. Conversations with various people in my life were aligned: I could hear the earth speaking to me ever so clearly.

Then suddenly, two months ago, the first snag came and before I could regroup the second popped up. Just like that I found myself battling on all fronts: work, home, family, social. My world was I knew it was giving way beneath me just as I was reading myself to soar. I was forced to step back to reconnect with the what I needed to move me forward.

I had lost focus as I was juggling and trying to keep all areas of my life afloat. As I look back and ponder my ongoing saga that is my life right now, I see three things as critical in having seen me through to today where I can even put this post together:

  • Self-awareness
  • Self-care
  • Resilience

I will cover these in more details over the course of the month and will bring you a weekly reflections on my further learning as I continue my journey.
